Apple announces new features and enhancements for its services

Apple is set to roll out new features across its services with the 2027 software updates arriving this fall. Among the highlights are enhanced Flyover views in Apple Maps, new sharing capabilities in Find My, simplified bill splitting with Apple Cash, video podcast support on Mac and tvOS, updated Shared Albums in iCloud, and a fresh program for Apple Fitness+ users.

Apple Maps will offer an improved Flyover experience that integrates aerial views with artificial intelligence, providing users with more detailed imagery of select cities worldwide. Additionally, the introduction of Local Lists for U.S. users will make it easier to discover trending dining spots and other local destinations, all while maintaining user privacy.

Find My introduces new flexible sharing options, allowing users to share their location for customizable time frames, enhancing event or trip coordination. A new unified Find My app will be available on the Apple Watch, replacing the existing apps for devices, items, and people, and includes features like Precision Finding for locating specific Apple devices.

Apple Wallet enhancements include the ability to split bills using Visual Intelligence with Apple Cash, either through scanning receipts or utilizing the iPhone camera. Users can also create and store digital versions of physical loyalty or membership cards in Wallet, offering easy access on both iPhone and Apple Watch. The Wallet will also support an enhanced key experience for hotels, providing users with additional trip details and services.

Apple Pay will see a refreshed checkout design that allows users to swipe between payment methods easily and view important card information. Additionally, Tap to Pay on iPhone will introduce Tap to Share for a more personalized in-store transaction experience, enabling secure sharing of information with merchants.

Mac users will be able to enjoy video podcasts with Picture in Picture support on Apple Podcasts, while tvOS will feature a redesigned podcast interface. Enhanced search capabilities will allow users to find specific episodes more efficiently. Meanwhile, iCloud Shared Albums will support full-resolution sharing, accommodate more file types, and offer new collaboration features.

Apple Music will expand its lyrics translation and pronunciation features, adding new language pairings, and improve AutoMix transitions for a more immersive listening experience. Hi-Res Lossless Audio will also be available on Apple TV 4K for subscribers with compatible speakers.

Sports fans can look forward to an enhanced experience with Apple Sports, providing real-time scores and updates for major leagues like Major League Soccer and Formula 1®. Apple Fitness+ will introduce the Strong Through Menopause program with exercises designed to support users during perimenopause and menopause.
