England rugby condemn the social media abuse towards Ellis Genge

England prop Genge was sent abuse after the footage went viral of him where he was shown not appraising the Wales payers off the pitch by clapping on their victory over Six Nation by 40-24. He even c claimed that he had been sent death threats over the issue. After which England Rugby has condemned the behaviors of the people and came in support of their player Ellis Genge.

England Rugby urger “true rugby fans” to stand against the abuse. “Respect is the core value of rugby,” the statement said.

“Yesterday we lost to Wales who deserved their victory. Unfortunately, some of the reaction in social media to players and the team has not shown the level of respect the rugby community prides itself on. We will support our players and team against online abuse and hope true rugby fans will stand with us”

Ellis Genge however tweeted after the video went viral and claimed that he was in shock at the moment and that was the reason behind the situation. He said “Don’t know why I’m not clapping in that tunnel must be deep in thought, the utmost respect for the Welsh as for keyboard warriors sending death threats, etc….”
