Rankpage Singapore Announces International SEO and GEO Strategy to Help Businesses Reach Higher-Value Overseas Markets Amid Rising Costs

SINGAPORE, Sept. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Rankpage Singapore an AI SEO agency in Singapore today announced its focus on international SEO and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) as strategic digital growth solutions for Singapore businesses facing rising operating costs and seeking to access higher-value customers in overseas markets. The announcement comes as new industry data shows that a significant majority of Singapore businesses expect costs to increase in 2026, while fewer businesses anticipate revenue growth.
The Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s (SCCCI) 2026 Annual Business Survey found that 80.5% of respondents expect their business costs to increase in 2026, compared with 65% in 2025. Meanwhile, only 34.2% expect revenue to increase, down from 39% in 2025. Although 78% of respondents expect their businesses to remain profitable, 56% anticipate lower profits than the previous year.
Rankpage Singapore says these conditions are prompting businesses to reconsider how they manage both costs and revenue generation. While companies can reduce overheads, automate processes and move suitable functions into lower-cost markets, the company believes businesses must also consider how they can reach customers who may generate greater commercial value.
“You can only cut costs so far. At some point, businesses also need to ask if they are selling into markets that can support the level of value they need to grow,” said Riff Chen, Regional Manager of Rankpage.
“If the cost of operating a business continues to rise, relying entirely on the same local customer base becomes increasingly difficult. For the right company, the answer may be to start competing for higher-value customers overseas.”
Rankpage Announces International SEO as Part of Its Market Expansion Strategy
As part of its strategy, Rankpage Singapore is highlighting international SEO as a way for businesses to evaluate and build visibility in overseas markets before making significant physical investments.
International SEO can help businesses understand:
- What potential customers are searching for in specific countries
- Which competitors currently dominate local search results
- How customer search behaviour differs between markets
- What questions potential buyers ask before making purchasing decisions
- Which products and services generate demand in target markets
- Where existing online visibility can be expanded
Based on this information, businesses can develop country-specific landing pages, localised content, technical international SEO strategies, authority-building campaigns and search-led lead generation.
Rankpage Singapore says this approach can allow companies to gather market intelligence and test international demand while reducing the need to make immediate large-scale investments in physical expansion.
“One of the advantages of SEO is that you don’t necessarily have to open a physical office in London, Sydney or New York before finding out if customers there want what you sell,” Riff Chen said.
“You can research search demand and understand what buyers are looking for. The response from the market itself can then help determine where further expansion makes sense.”
Singapore Businesses Are Increasingly Adopting Regional Operating Models
The announcement comes as Singapore businesses continue to explore regional operating strategies.
The SCCCI’s 2025 Annual Business Survey found that 65.7% of respondents planned to relocate part of their business or business functions overseas while retaining complementary operations in Singapore. Overall, 95% of respondents planned to retain all or part of their Singapore operations.
Rankpage Singapore says this indicates that businesses are increasingly looking at regional models rather than choosing between operating entirely in Singapore or moving completely overseas.
The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) is one example of this approach. Enterprise Singapore has described cross-border “twinning” as a model that enables companies to locate different parts of their operations in Singapore and Johor, potentially increasing capacity while reducing costs.
Companies may retain higher-value functions such as headquarters, technology, finance and sales in Singapore while placing suitable manufacturing or operational activities in nearby markets.
Enterprise Singapore has highlighted companies including Old Chang Kee and SP Manufacturing among its JS-SEZ case studies.
For Rankpage Singapore, regionalising operations also creates an opportunity to reconsider how companies acquire customers.
“If your production, teams and operations are becoming regional, it makes sense to ask whether your customer acquisition should become more international too,” Riff Chen said.
Rankpage Highlights GEO as the Next Opportunity in AI Search
Alongside international SEO, Rankpage Singapore is highlighting Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) as an emerging opportunity for businesses seeking international visibility.
AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini and other generative search tools are increasingly being used by consumers and businesses to research products, compare companies and identify potential suppliers.
For example, an overseas buyer searching for a specialised supplier could ask an AI platform:
“Who are the best camera manufacturers in Southeast Asia for high-speed machine vision systems?”
If a Singapore company appears in the resulting recommendation, that company may enter the buyer’s consideration set before the buyer visits its website or contacts its sales team.
Rankpage says GEO focuses on strengthening the information and signals that help AI systems understand a company’s products, services, expertise and areas of authority.
“A buyer overseas may never have heard of your company, but they can ask an AI platform for the best suppliers for a very specific requirement,” Chen said.
“If your business appears in that answer, you have entered their consideration set before they even visit your website.”
Rising Business Costs Increase the Need for New Revenue Opportunities
The SCCCI’s 2026 survey found that 71.8% of respondents identified rising business costs as a major concern, while 50.2% cited the availability of suitable manpower.
Rankpage Singapore says businesses operating from a high-cost economy may need to compete through expertise, technology, quality and specialised capabilities rather than relying primarily on lower prices.
The company believes international SEO and GEO can support this approach by helping Singapore businesses make their capabilities visible to potential customers in markets where their products and expertise may command greater value.
SEO and GEO are not intended to replace sales teams, partnerships, distributors or physical operations. Instead, Rankpage Singapore says they can complement broader expansion strategies by helping companies research demand, identify opportunities, test markets and build international visibility.
