This cinematic marvel premiered on Wednesday amidst a whirlwind of anticipation, and it did not disappoint. On its very first day, Toxic shattered records, raking in a staggering ₹101 crore in India, outpacing the opening triumph of Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
While the film kicked off with a bang, the tale took an unexpected turn as box-office numbers began to dwindle. According to the latest from Sacnilk, by 9 p.m. on Sunday, Toxic had amassed a net of ₹19.93 crore in India, bringing its total India net collection to an impressive ₹211.03 crore, while the gross collection soared to ₹251.77 crore.
Sunday saw theaters bustling with fans, with an overall occupancy of 25.7% across 15,436 showings. Despite the noteworthy milestone of ₹200 crore in India, the film’s daily earnings have been on a gentle decline since its record-breaking debut.
Language Showdown
- Hindi: Dominating the screens with 11,210 showings, the Hindi version garnered ₹12.37 crore with a 24% occupancy rate.
- Kannada: With 1,294 shows, it claimed the second spot on Day 5, contributing ₹6.12 crore.
- Tamil: From 1,404 shows, this version brought in ₹49 lakh.
- Telugu: With 1,528 shows, it grossed ₹95 lakh.
Though Toxic dazzled audiences initially with ₹101.10 crore on its premiere day, the euphoria cooled on Thursday, with earnings dropping to ₹37.65 crore—a 62.8% dip. The downward trend continued with ₹27.20 crore on Friday and further slipped to ₹25.15 crore on Saturday. By 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, the film had added ₹18.37 crore, signaling a weekend of waning but steady allure.
