Apple Creator Studio unveils new enhancements
Apple has announced updates to its Apple Creator Studio, a suite of creative and productivity apps. These enhancements include new features in Pixelmator Pro for iPad, which now offers edge-refinement tools for more advanced selections. Additionally, Final Cut Pro and Motion can now apply Cinematic mode effects to video footage captured on the iPhone 18 Pro during editing. Updates to Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform include new templates and creative tools.
Exciting New Templates
Pixelmator Pro introduces two new sets of templates on both Mac and iPad, designed for sports and dynamic projects, as well as for launching creative ventures, businesses, or products. A new category for podcasts offers cover artwork specifically designed to stand out on major podcast platforms.
On the iPad, Pixelmator Pro adds the Select and Mask feature from the Mac version, providing creatives with tools for precise mask and selection adjustments. This includes maintaining intricate details along complex edges such as hair or fur.
Enhancements in Final Cut Pro and Motion on Mac allow editors to integrate Cinematic mode effects into videos shot on the iPhone 18 Pro. These updates let users adjust focus points and depth of field within the Final Cut Pro timeline. Compressor supports converting videos with these effects back to the original Cinematic mode format, offering new HEVC and MPEG-4 export settings for social media.
Efficiency Enhancements for Increased Productivity
Subscribers to Apple Creator Studio will find new, professionally crafted templates and themes within Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. Keynote now features intelligent slide generation that crafts images tailored to presentations automatically.
Users of Keynote, Pages, and Numbers can collaborate more efficiently, with options to request access to shared presentations, documents, or spreadsheets. Pages for Mac introduces a Screen View for optimized content reading and focused writing, while Numbers adds new trigonometry, statistics, and logic functions for solving complex spreadsheet problems.
Freeform receives several eagerly awaited updates. Boards now automatically adjust to Dark Mode, and users can organize boards into folders and invite collaborators. Apple Intelligence-powered Writing Tools can rewrite, proofread, and summarize handwritten notes. Users can also seek access to collaborate on shared files or automate content addition with Shortcuts. VisionOS 27 enhances Freeform’s capabilities, allowing users to move multiple items from a board — such as images, videos, sticky notes, shapes, and 3D models — into their space, and view 3D models collectively.
