Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference set to begin June 8

Apple is gearing up to host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 8-12, offering developers around the globe a chance to explore the latest Apple tools, technologies, and features. The event provides an opportunity to connect with Apple’s engineers and designers.

The WWDC26 will commence on June 8 with both the Keynote and Platforms State of the Union. These sessions will unveil impressive updates for Apple platforms, including advancements in artificial intelligence and innovative new software and developer tools.

Event Highlights

Throughout the week, attendees can expect over 100 new video sessions covering tools, technologies, and design. Developers and students will have the opportunity to participate in Group Labs and engage in discussions on the Apple Developer Forums. Additionally, Apple will host more than 1,000 developers, designers, and students in person at Apple Park on June 8.

June 8 Schedule

  • 10 a.m. PDT: WWDC will officially open with a first look at the latest platform updates. The Keynote will be available for streaming on apple.com, the Apple TV app, and the Apple YouTube channel. On-demand playback will follow the live stream.
  • 1 p.m. PDT: The Platforms State of the Union will delve deeper into new features, APIs, and technologies designed to enhance the power of Apple platforms for developers. This session will be streamed on the Apple Developer app, website, YouTube channel, and bilibili. On-demand options will be available post-stream.

WWDC sessions offer a direct learning experience from Apple engineers and designers. All sessions will be accessible through the Apple Developer app, website, YouTube channel, and bilibili. Curated guides will assist developers in navigating major announcements based on platform and topic.

Interactive Opportunities

Developers can join Group Labs, which are live online presentations and Q&A sessions conducted by Apple engineers and designers. These sessions, lasting up to 60 minutes, cover topics such as Apple Intelligence, developer tools, design, graphics and games, and machine learning. These will occur from Tuesday through Friday. Questions can be asked and upvoted, and Apple experts will be on the Apple Developer Forums to provide answers.

Recognizing Excellence

The Apple Design Awards celebrate the craftsmanship, creativity, and technical skills within the developer community. This year, 36 finalists across categories like Delight and Fun, Inclusivity, Innovation, Interaction, Social Impact, and Visuals and Graphics were announced on the Apple Developer website. Winners will be revealed in the forthcoming weeks.

Apple maintains its commitment to fostering the growth of student developers through initiatives like the Swift Student Challenge. This year, 350 winners were honored, including 50 Distinguished Winners invited to Cupertino for a unique three-day experience during WWDC week.
