IND vs ENG: Ben Stokes half-century helped England to get 205 in the first inning on Day 1
The ongoing fourth Test between India and England again seems in the favor of the spinners as they picked 8 wickets on Day 1 of the match. England failed to perform as per the remark once again in the fourth Test.
However,. Ben Stokes played a beautiful knock of 55 runs and become the highest run-getter of the team in the first inning. Axar Patel who picked 11 wickets in the third match again strikes for India and dismissed four English batsmen. England only put up 205 runs on board in their first inning because of Stokes half-century and Daniel Lawrence’s inning of 46 runs.
Washington Sundar dismissed Stokes who was trying to put pressure on the Indian bowlers. Other Indian off-spinner Ravi Ashwin picked 3 wickets in the first inning of the match. Skipper Joe Root just scored 5 runs and got dismissed by the pacer Mohammad Siraj, who picked 2 wickets.
India started their first inning with an early dismissal as Shubhman Gill departs for zero by England’s experienced pacer James Anderson. Team India is trail by 181 runs on Day 1 of the fourth Test with having Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara on the crease.
