Suriya’s ‘Karuppu’ Crosses Rs 183 Crore at Indian Box Office Despite Slight Day 12 Slowdown
As the gripping saga of Suriya’s ‘Karuppu’ unfolds, the film has taken a momentary dip on its twelfth day with a collection of around Rs. 4.75 crore at the Indian box office. This presents a noticeable 30% drop from Monday. While this decline might seem steep, Monday’s performance was exceptionally strong, hinting that the film could merely be finding its footing. In comparison to Friday, Tuesday’s figures still hold up decently.
Interestingly, Monday’s unexpected surge remains a mystery. It could be attributed to the overflowing excitement from the weekend, a phenomenon not usually seen so early in a film’s release. As of now, ‘Karuppu’ has amassed a commendable Rs. 182.75 crore in just twelve days.
Week Two Projections
With projections indicating a second-week haul of Rs. 63–65 crore, ‘Karuppu’ is on a promising path to close in on Rs. 195 crore by the end of its second week. Specifically, in the heartland of Tamil Nadu, the film pulled in approximately Rs. 3.25 crore yesterday. Earlier in the week, it outpaced ‘Vikram’ for three consecutive days before lagging behind again.
The question now is whether ‘Karuppu’ will regain its momentum. Although it’s on course to hit the Rs. 150 crore mark throughout its entire run, overtaking Rs. 175 crore may remain elusive if it continues trailing behind ‘Vikram’.
Performance in Telugu States
Meanwhile, ‘Karuppu’ is holding its ground impressively in the Telugu states. With expectations of bagging over Rs. 9 crore in the second week alone, if the momentum persists into the third week, the film’s total earnings in the region could soar past Rs. 30 crore, potentially touching Rs. 35 crore.
